New site coming soon!

We've been quiet on the blog lately, but with good reason. Many of you have come to enjoy the style and and concept of FigureBaby, so we've been working to bring you more. Krisha, Ashley and I have been in the basement cooking up new ideas and our new project, currently under the draft title PleasureBaby, is a new video site featuring many of the girls you know from FB. As usual, we are not producing just any video site, no, we have our own take on things and what makes video erotic. We're shooting content now. We don't want to let the cat out of the bag yet, so details and samples will have to wait, but we'll keep you informed as we work up to our March launch.

I Survived :)

Well hello strangers! Hope everyone had a great Holiday! This girl has been crazy busy. Where should I even start?

The madness and shopping rush was definitely on for Christmas. Had 17 people to purchase items for. It seriously turned into my full time job up until about two days before Christmas. Shopping, wrapping, tagging, organizing, taking tags off, keeping track of gift receipts. Got to a point where I thought if I had to wrap another present or affix another bow that I was going to cry myself to sleep and stay asleep for at least 24 hours. Was keeping up with the house and making big dinners every night and then the cleanup that comes with that. Running around after my animals happened somewhere in there!

Spent almost a week going from place to place and each time having to load the car with gifts. Sort of felt like Mrs. Claus :) Prepped dinner at each location and brought some sort of dessert too. Basically, our house turned into a department store / bakery for awhile. Forces you to brush up on your organization skills really quick.

Watching my nieces and nephew open their gifts was a hoot. They're always so animated and I swear the things they say, they don't even realize how hilarious they're being. Got my Mom and Dad a new computer because the one they had came second hand and was close to ten years old. In computer age, you might as well own a dinosaur. Took them awhile to get thrilled because it seems as though parents don't like their children to spend a whole lot on them around the holidays. Now, they're over the moon though. They didn't realize how quickly things were supposed to be working and they feel completely behind. Hopefully, it'll keep them busy for awhile trying to catch up.

Aside from the Holidays, there was also three Anniversaries, the Rose Bowl and three Birthdays to celebrate. The man and I celebrated being Engaged for two years. We all celebrated one of my Sisters Anniversary with her husband and my Aunt's Anniversary with hers. My eldest Niece turned 12, the youngest turned 9 and Diesel turned 1 :) Unfortunately, the Ducks lost the Rose Bowl, but I have a feeling we'll be back next year since we have so many great returning players!

New Years Eve the man and I were crazy busy and it was pretty much the only evening we had off together over the last I don't know how long. We stayed in because it's amateur night and neither of us are big drinkers anyways. Ended up having to go out on the roads because those that chose to go out to begin with needed a sober driver. Glad that people chose not to drink and drive, but probably not the best idea to be out driving to begin with.

Now that the madhouse is over, I'm looking forward to getting back to being able to get back to normal blogging and some sort or normal schedule. Only one more Christmas left to celebrate, but no deadlines on that one so we may even put it off until February! Haha.

Hope all of you had a wonderful holiday season and a very SAFE New Years Eve.  Hello 2010!

Personal Winter Favorites

As the weather gets colder, I find myself going back to a few things that I know I can rely on every year. Things that will cheer me up, make me feel good, keep me warm, or help me to feel beautiful. Where I live, it seems like chilly breezes and more dark than light hours in the day creep up on me. It can throw a person off a little! Can't speak for everyone here at Figurebaby, but here are my personal Winter favorites!

Bag Balm, Baby Oil and Conditioner: A little goes a long way! Because the weather changes ever so quickly from slightly cooler Autumn evenings to ice forming on the windshield of my car at night, my skin quickly becomes unhappy. Right after shaving in my perfectly warm shower, I take a dab of conditioner and rub it over the freshly shaved area. Conditioner always makes my skin so much softer and prevents me from getting ingrown hairs. Even though I'm blessed enough to not have to shave my face like a man, I also use it on my face after washing - big help!

As soon as I'm done getting clean, I use a bit of baby oil all over my body and pat dry. Helps hold in the moisture. When I'm ready to get all dolled up and start applying my makeup, I'll take a DAB of Bag Balm and rub it all over my face. Lips, eyes, under my eyes, the spot where the ear lobe meets your face and in the creases of my nose. It's especially hard in the Winter to keep your skin from cracking, and we all know that once it happens, it's that much harder to repair. It can also be used on your feet or hands overnight. Lather it on, wrap in plastic and throw some socks over it. In the morning, your hands or feet will be smoother than they've probably been in a long time.

Homemade Turkey Soup: Caught some nasty flu bug this past week and this was the first thing that came to mind. Yes, homemade does mean made from scratch, but it's very simple and a great way to use any leftovers you may have in your fridge.

I use 3 carrots, 4 celery stalks, potato chunks and homemade broth. When I make Thanksgiving turkey, I separate and freeze pieces that no one eats as well as leftover turkey. Let the inedible  pieces simmer in some water for about an hour and have my broth ready which is usually a little over five cups. I'll add a little broth to the turkey pieces and let them sit on the stove for awhile to soak up some juice and be even more delicious. Mix the chopped carrots, celery and potato chunks in the broth in a pot and cook until tender. I add the turkey meat about halfway through this process. In total, I use about three and a half cups of cubed turkey and season to taste. Add your favorite noodles towards the end, and you'll have a hearty, super satisfying soup that will last a few days!

Heating Pad: It's less expensive than having to crank up the heat in the house if you're trying to avoid it, and works even better if you're snuggled down on the couch wrapped in your favorite blanket. You don't have to be sick to use one!

Scented Pine cones, Cinnamon and Nutmeg: If you celebrate Christmas, or really love the outdoors, you know the joy that the smell of a Douglass or Noble Fir can bring. If it's not quite time for the messy tree, but you're really in the holiday spirit, you can very easily get bags of scented pine cones. You can use them as decoration around the house or have them next to your fireplace. The aroma is intoxicating! Not in the mood to waste time baking but want your home to smell like you have? Grab a pie pan anyways. Add some water, cinnamon and nutmeg and toss in your oven on low. The scent will permeate your house!

Tall boots, Wool Sweaters, Long Jackets Hats and Layering! I'm not one of those girls that actually LIKES to shop. Love new things, but don't like the process of shopping. One local chain store close to me sells very inexpensive pieces that I wear the heck out of. I purchased a lined short, medium and long pea coat style jacket for under 60 dollars - brand new. Cute colors too :) You can never go wrong with a wool wrap or throw (which I picked up for less than 20 dollars) and a good pair of boots with a sexy heel (25 bucks.) They have tons of cute hats as well, none of which I found for hardly over 5 dollars max.

Lastly, I must say that I've never been a big pantyhose person. They are usually uncomfortable and I spend more time adjusting them than actually wearing them. Got a few great pairs though in Florida and have fallen in love. If you wear a pair of hose under a pair of snug fitting leggings and THEN put your jeans on, I promise that your legs will not get cold.

What do you guys really look forward to in the Winter?

On a side note, Go Ducks and Broncos!
Let's kick some backside in those bowl games!

Bowl Season

It's no secret we're sports fans here at FigureBaby, and it's the time of year for college football to take center stage in the United States. Nothing causes sports fans to argue more then the ridiculous BCS, and once the arguing starts it can only mean bowl season is upon us! and this year is exciting for many reasons. Krisha, like many in Portland, is looking forward to an Oregon victory in the Rose Bowl, and I'm anticipating another victory by my school, Boise State, in the Fiesta Bowl. I'm sure many of the girls are already planning a trip to LA to see the Grandaddy of Them All, but I'm digging out the luggage and packing for Phoenix. Stay tuned for either cheers or tears, and stories of football and parties! Go Broncos!!

Holi-daze

It's been a long few days for this girl!

Spent Wednesday last week baking up a storm and running from store to store. My pies were 100% from scratch, as well as my cookies and all the other desserts :) Put a pie in the oven around 2:30am on Thanksgiving and nodded off right before I had to take it out. Luckily, someone woke up not long after and I didn't burn the house down. First time I've ever done anything remotely close to that and never again!

Thursday was spent in the kitchen as well. Cooking dinner for 15, cleaning up dinner, serving dessert, cleaning up dessert and then giving into my turkey coma!

After all that cooking, I told the boys it would be 10 days until I finally got back in the kitchen, so if all that was left was pumpkin and pecan pie and cookies, then that's what they would have to eat. Well, I gave in. Yesterday I did Thanksgiving dinner all over again. Smaller turkey this time, only a 10 pounder, so it wasn't nearly as daunting. Just couldn't stop craving the stuff!

Took some photos of the journey to share with you guys as it was quite the experience!

Have a Uhaul adventure happening this week. Helping a family member move their stuff back home, so I'll be sharing that with you as well seeing as this girl will be lugging furniture and possibly driving a big truck. I'm pretty stoked!

Have a shoot on Saturday to help a photography class study the human body. Basically, a bunch of people standing around inspecting me naked. Done it once before. It's actually a lot of fun because they get more uncomfortable than I do. I try and give them a hard time and ask them randomly, "Excuse me, are you staring at my boobs?" Usually breaks the ice.

Can't wait to share more adventures with you guys! Happy Holi-daze!

Thanksgiving Prep

When I was little, Thanksgiving was always at Grandma and Grandpa's house. Seeing as they have moved quite a few hours away, it has now become a much smaller event every year and it feels less and less like the holidays.

Well, that's going to change this year!

I'm getting everyone together on Thanksgiving and I'm making a huge blowout meal to end all meals! I'm bringing both my family and the future husband's family all together in one spot and going to serve food that I'll spend two days making. I'm so excited to have my parent's house filled with the smell of the pies and cookies I'll be making from scratch and to get up at 6am on Thanksgiving morning just to put the turkey in!

I'm completely one of those girls that gets dressed up for the holidays and will be in the kitchen slaving all day with an apron on. I'm even more excited because I'm going to be bringing people to the Thanksgiving dinner that would otherwise be spending the holiday alone. I would never want to be alone on the holidays, so I don't want to leave anyone out :) Going to have each person tell me about one food item that really makes it Thanksgiving for them and incorporate that into the meal as well.

The night before, I'm going to be staying at my parent's house so that I have plenty of room to bake and make dinner the next day. Plus, it would just be more difficult to make everything here and transport it over there, so I'm going the logical thing. It's been more than three years since I've stayed the night over there, and so I'm sure it will be quite the experience!

Tomorrow, I'll be making sure I have all my supplies ready and packed and then will head that direction to bake all day on Wednesday! Really looking forward to this (if I haven't already mentioned that, lol) Hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving and I'll try and post updates of the cooking and activities as I go!
