I'm fascinated with the two dimensionality of photos. I'm influenced by old photos, but not the professional ones. It's the ones you find at garage sales and flea markets that excite me. Old vacation photos, family snapshots, the kind that look like they came from an Instamatic, or even a Holga. They just sort of lay on the paper and fade away. Most interesting is the fading part. As if the image isn't eternal, fading into slow oblivion. Anyway, these shots of Dixie hope to capture some of that 2 dimensional nature. I don't really want them to fade, but I suppose they will with time.
